Dredging Pumps Page 1

Heavy duty sand dredging pumps

Dredging is the process of clearing the bed of a port, harbour or river by excavating the bottom sediments in order to ensure a clear and safe passageway for ships and vessels. Dredging pumps therefore need to be able to handle seawater or freshwater with sand content and some degree of debris.

Dredging places quite a lot of strain on a pump due to the abrasive nature of the fluid being pumped, causing the wear of mechanical parts. It is therefore important for spare parts to be readily available when required, which we have in UK stock for immediate dispatch for many of our seawater dredging pump models.
