Is your water pressure too low when you shower? Are you on a well and the water pressure varies from 30-50 psi depending on the level in the bladder tank? Here is how to make a variable speed whole house pressure booster pump for a fraction of the cost of a true variable frequency drive unit.
You need a whole house booster pump and two water pressure regulators. One regulator goes before the pump to limit the incoming water pressure to the maximum water pressure of the pump. The second regulator goes on the output side to limit the water pressure to the constant water pressure you want in the house.
For example you use our half horsepower booster pump and set the incoming regulator to 30 psi. The pump can boost up to 40 psi which would give you too much water pressure in the house, 70 psi. So you set the water pressure regulator on the outlet side to 60 psi. Now your well pump can jump from 30-50 psi and you will always have 60 psi in the house. The PB-100 one horsepower booster pump is great for larger homes or those needing a higher water pressure boost.
Ideally you use the E-3 water pressure regulator before the pressure booster pump as it has a built in strainer that prevents small solid from damaging the pump. Then you put the PB series water pressure booster, then the E45 series water pressure regulator after the pump
