Darn thing works! Our travel trailer only carries about 18gal of fresh water and it iisn't unusual for use to dry camp for a week or two in national parks. Holding up 5gal cans on a regular basis gets old. Once you figure out witch way to run the drill, it will empty a can faster than it will pour into my inlet. You will need to recharge your batt when you are done. Just used it for water. recommend it.

This enabled me to clear muddy water out of various parts of a 200 ft long trench. The pump was able to self prime up about 6 feet, then the water began to run down a long hose, downhill. When the exit hose was uphill, the pump wasn't able to push the water out.

It seems to have a much better build quality than the equivalent item from the local big-box hardware stores. However, upon disassembly, some of the "blades" in the impeller have cracks. These could have existed from the factory or may have happened during use. Either way, this makes me doubt the long term durability of the pump.

Really crappy. High internal friction, so hard on the drill and forget using a cordless. No instructions except a few self-contradictory words on the merchandising card. It says "self-priming" which means it is going to suck up the fluid filling the empty hose on the intake side and establish the prime when the fluid has been sucked all the way to the pump. Then it says "do not run dry" which means you cannot run it dry to suck up the fluid through the empty hose and get it to the pump. I did it anyway, but it would not self prime and when it started to smoke I figured we're done here. It says 'grease before every use" (or maybe it was between uses) but it does not say what grease to use, nor how much, nor where to put the grease. Take the pump apart? Shove it in the hose ports? No clues. Over-all, a pitifully lame job of merchandising and instruction writing

I purchased this a few days ago, it arrived yesterday and I tried it out today.

I read reviews before purchasing the unit about issues regarding leaks, plastic/rubber wearing upon initial use so I soaked the entire unit under warm water in my sink before attaching it to my drill to test.

Two things I've noticed that make me rate this unit one star.

1. The drill bit (pole) shape that drives the pump is round, requiring an intensely tight connection with your drill so your drill doesn't spin freely around the driving pole.

2. Even after soaking the unit as described above, I believe I STILL cracked and broke the clear rubber gasket that makes the watertight seal between the drill bit driving pole and the pump (picture below).

Note: this unit still passes water as it is designed to do which is GREAT, however, even after taking precautions, the gasket broke immediately thus the watertight seal is compromised which would make pushing a lot of water through the unit.....a big, wet mess.

I'll be requesting to return this unit for a replacement and will update if that goes smoothly and if the replacement unit fails just as easily.

This is absolutely the best drill driven pump I've ever seen. Unlike the cheap plastic pumps you can get locally for half the price, this thing is really made well and pumps a ton of liquid. The body is made of something that feels like steel but I think it's some kind of very hard plastic. The treads are very hard and exact and it's put together like an American made product would be. You will even notice in your first use that they put some grease in the impeller to make sure you don't burn it up during first use. So it would be a good idea to run water through it to expel the grease like I did. It's a great little pump and like I said, I could not find anything like it locally, so I bought another one from Amazon just to make sure it's never discontinued or something if or when I ever need a replacement. Although I expect this one to last for a very long time. You can't go wrong, I'm serious.

Bought this drill pump so I would have a way to add additional water to my RV fresh water tank. It works and got the job done. You have to hold onto the pump to keep it from spinning, hold the drill, and also keep the supply hose in the container, which is a bit much for one person. I thought about mounting the pump, but have not come up with a reasonable way to do this yet. You are limited by the length of the hose, the location of the water intake on the RV, and the location of the new water supply so I have not been able to figure out the best way to mount the pump or where to place it. All that said, I am glad I bought this because it allows us to take almost unlimited outdoor showers when camping when we don't have water hookup at the campsite.

Needed a pump to empty a waterbed. This pump did great. I attached it to a small board so the torque wouldn't spin it. I put some mineral oil in it for initial lubrication. I connected a 3' section of hose to the end marked with an arrow as the inlet and a 50' garden hose to the end marked with an arrow as the outlet, then turned the 3/8" pump shaft with a 110 v drill in the direction marked on the pump housing. One thing I noticed was that the metal hose fittings screwed easily onto the pump, unlike a less-expensive pump where the fittings were molded too large. FYI, the pump direction for spinning appears to be backwards based how I expected it to work, but I connected per the arrows and it worked just fine. I do wonder how to best prep the pump so the impeller doesn't deteriorate before I need it again. Any suggestions?

Miles Craft Drill Pump Failed

First off I noticed the pump leaking as soon as I started using it. After taking it apart I found the inner casing was dented right where the oil ring needs to seal. Second issue is I used it to transfer diesel oil. Due to the case leak I was forced to stop using it and two days later is when I took it apart to find the leak the impeller had expanded and softened from the oil. In the garbage can it went. If it didn't have the defect and I only used it for water then maybe the rating would be higher. DO NOT USE FOR OIL TRANSFERS.

Bought this for camping. My rv has a small fresh water tank and I used to have to transfer 6 five gallon water take by hand every couple of days. It was hard on my back, took too long and spilled a lot of it. With this pump which I screwed to a piece of scrap wood for stability Iâ€™m able to transfer the same amount of water by powering the pump with my electric drill in 10 minutes without any spillage. Awsome buy!

Je veux employer cette pompedrill pour transfÃ©rer seulement de l'eau, le premier que j'ai achetÃ© et reÃ§u en Ã peine 3 jours ne fonctionnait pas. il y avait tellement de rÃ©sistance Ã le faire tourner que la tige de la pompe est restÃ©e sur la drill et la pompe n'a jamais tournÃ©e. Je me suis plaint Ã Amazone et WOW, l'impossible s'est produit...en moins de 5 minutes, j'ai clavardÃ© avec quelqu'un qui a tout rÃ¨glÃ© et croyez le ou non, le lendemain.....21 heures apres avoir clavardÃ© avec cette personne, j'ai reÃ§u une pompedrill de remplacement. Cette pompe aussi est tres resistante Ã tourner...mais elle tourne. J'espÃ¨re juste qu'elle va durer plus longtemps que l'autre. ????

For 20 bucks, this thing worked wonders. Needed it to evacuate the water from our hot tub and it worked well. 4 person hot tub was emptied in about an hour with the drill (electric) on high. I did rotate the slow drill at first and it was stiff but when it started getting easier I turned it up. Super easy to store and clean up. Had zero issues but was on level ground but had a good 100 for hose. I love the dang thing.

lo compre con duda de si podia funcionar, pero la verdad ya que logras agarrarle el modo jala muy bien aunque ojo tiene sus detalles como de que la primera carga de agua que saques sale un tipo de pegamento que traia por dentro y claramente dice que no se debe usar por mas de 30 segundos sin agua de ahi en fuera muy bien
